Sony EX1 Powering on/off repair suggestions
Have 2 PMW EX-1 - powering off then back on during recording - different times each time (both on batt & AC) Can any recommend somewhere in UK to get quote/repaired Used to use Clyde Cunningham but website no longer avail (I guess retired)

Mine gets quite hot in continuous use, but have never seen this happen (it has been very lightly used over the years). I wonder if yours could be overheating and setting off a sensor, causing a shutdown? Could this be as simple as cleaning out the vents towards the back? Is there a fan inside there (don't know)?

It looks to be a known issue...hopefully someone will be able to recomend a good UK repair place.....
