Sony HXR-NX200 announced, update to NX100

Looks like they gave the NX100 the expected NX80 updates, such as Hybrid AF, preinstalled 4K, and slog/HLG.

Expecting a PXW-Z170 or such update of the PXW-Z150.

The Z170 will almost certainly be 8bit 4:2:0 internal, but in the very least, in the best case scenario, they will update it to 4K 60p.

If they don't update to 4K 60p, it would be even less of an upgrade cause all that's added is HLG/SLog, which is more for external output, but if the HDMI out is also still 8bit, well...

Apparently, the NX200 is a PAL ONLY camera, has 25/50p, no 24/30/60p capability.

All of these cameras still use the same basic X70 DSP and CPU, there is no way any of this line will get 4K 60p, or 10 bit 4:2:2 4K, not even the Z190 does 10 bit 4:2:2 4K. The Z150 does 10 bit 4:2:2 FHD, so expect the "Z170" to include the same updates that the Z90 got over the X70, the AF and the gammas.

This NX200 camera is literally a Z150 body with a software downgrade. (HLG removed)

The NXCAM NX80, the baby brother to this thing has phase detection AF and HLG and SLog.

Its funny how Sony marketing managers think.

Prolly the same guy that came up with the FS5-II software upgrade idea.

Cliff, I think you mean NX100 with a software UPGRADE. The Z150 body has an SDI jack and rear 1/4"-20/shoe capability, this camera is the NX100 with 4K installed.

These kinds of decisions mean I cannot expect anything other than 8bit 4:2:0 in my target price range from Sony. I've moved on to wait for the Panasonic Full Frame camera or getting a GH5s.
