Accessing the full quality XAVC-S file

I just picked up an A7S, and while reading up on the XAVC-S codec on another (less reputable) forum, I saw one user post that the MP4 files stored in the PRIVATE/M4ROOT/CLIP are actually proxies. Is that true? As a Mac user, I've been importing the MP4s in that directory directly into Premiere CC, but the other forum suggested that that workflow isn't maximizing the full color information of the A7S/XAVC-S codec.

Am I working with proxies? Thanks for your help!

Re: Accessing the full quality XAVC-S file

Pretty sure the MP4 files in that location are the original files when shooting in XAVC-S. To verify that I'm copying all media from a card I always compare the size of that folder to the card's used capacity and they always match (so there aren't any other hidden directories or what not).

Also, the proxies that the A7s records are in 720p so it's easy to verify that you're using the source files when once you import in your NLE or through quicktime inspector.

Good, that's what I thought. Thank you for the confirmation, Malcolm.
