New firmware v2.00 for Sony a6000 is out now
 

ILCE-6000 System Software Update Version 2.00 is out.
From the download page on the Australian Sony site, and I believe other countries sites too.

Sony is offering a System Software update for Interchangeable Lens Digital Camera.

Improvements:

Startup time is shortened.
This update enables shooting movies in 60p/30p/24p* due to the XAVC S format that supports high bit rates.
* For NTSC model: 60p/30p/24p
* For PAL model: 50p/25p(PAL mode)，60p/30p/24p(NTSC mode)
* When shooting a movie in the XAVC S format, ensure that an SDXC card of Class 10 or faster is used after formatting the card using the unit updated with the system software.
If you format the memory card, all the data will be erased. Please ensure that the data on the card is backed up before formatting.

I did some tests AVCHD and XAVC-S under lights and really cant see a difference at 25p except the files are almost twice the size.
I see a subtle difference at 12800 ISO with very low light.
Time for some testing at 50p over the weekend, with water and leaves.

You will se a difference if you try do more advanced color grading.

just received my A6000 today. Can't import the XAVC S footage into my sony vegas pro 13. It doesn't recognize it. How can I solve this?
