Re: PDW-700: Chromatic aberration or blue fringe?

So finally I got an answer from Sony Europe:

"The ALAC system only really corrects vertical errors at the edges of the picture so the areas of blue fringing towards the centre of the image wouldn't be corrected.
Whilst blue fringing is dependant on lens performance it can be visually reduced by turning off Matrix & Knee Saturation in the camcorders menu."

So I think, as Uli says, switching this off helps the blue effect but generally degrades the knee´s functionality, so I think the best option is to let it be.....

By the way, Canon says it's the camera, not the lens, but they can't solve it (they are a lens dealer, not camcorder specialists) It's a pity that Sony can't solve it. I think the best solution is to avoid shooting in this circumstances.

Anyone already know what the exact changes are in the 1.71 firmware update? Sony tell's only this:

"Improved Planning Metadata functionality including the ability to set Planning Metadata Clip
Name suffix (up to 5 characters) and display of the next/pending clip name on the LCD.
-Additional bug fixes and improvements for stability and performance"
