Are you using component or S-video or composite?

If you're using component, component was not meant for a composite input on a TV.

If you're using S-video (just in case you have S-video), check the connectors on the cable and the TV to see if one of the pins are bent on the S-video terminal.

If you're using composite, the camera might need servicing since the composite output is always color.

Also, check the color system your TV and camera are in. If they don't match (Example: PAL on NTSC) you can't use the camera with a NTSC TV.

Also, if using the R/G/B cable (component), if you get two of the wires mixed up, it will be in B&W or some strange color - check those are in the right order... it's REALLY easy to mix them up behind a TV while hanging upside down <wink>!

well, here it is.
had enough time to try everything out and it works. i worked myself thru the settings, tried a different lcd monitor, and i am getting a color signal.
the ch7 has a a/v out and a composite out.

i guess my mistake was, the varizoom lcd has a 1/8 a/v in (1/8 plug) in front, but also a bnc (red/ white) in the back.

thanks guys for your help..

This must be a problem with your monitor. Try it on a TV.
