BitTorrent of 1.06GB of HC1 clips (M2T's)

The Torrent is up and running. Use the link below.

http://files.morgansci.com:6969/torr...d60099fb405873

For those unfamiliar with BitTorrent, a basic client is availible at http://www.bittorrent.com, and a more advanced client is available at http://azureus.sourceforge.net

The concept behind BitTorrents is somewhat simple. Speeds are increased for everyone because everyone who is downloading the files is also uploading the file to others. Things will go slow at first. But as more and more people start downloading the torrent, the faster things will get.

I urge everyone to keep their BitTorrent clients open as long as possbile. Days, weeks, perhaps even a month or two. The file is 1.06GB and we need all the speed we can get. The more people to keep their BitTorrent clients open, the faster it will be for everybody. It makes the difference between a 6 hour download and a 30 minute down. So please, keep the BitTorrent client open.

These clips were made possible by user "DavidJapan", I'm just seeding and tracking the torrent.

Enjoy

It should be better than it was from the original person's website. People were getting 4KB/s. With 7 seeders and 11 peers, the BitTorrent should be significantly faster. Still though, it is a very large file and it will still take several hours to download.

Are these unconverted files from the camera?

Hi:
I am downloading the files now so I can't tell exactly what format they are in. I want to burn them to a DVD to see if they will play on my LinkPlayer 2 which is supposed to be able to play HD mpeg-2 transport streams. There are reports that the transport streams from the JVC HD camcorders will play on the player but that files from the FX-1 will not.

Avel has recently updated the Linkplayer firmware so I don't know if the FX-1 is still unsupported. Anyone know??

Joseph

I'm no expert but perhaps if you converted them from Transport stream to program stream (perhaps with TMpgenc 3.0, just split the streams and mulitplex?), that would probably work , try it... (tells us how you get on)

Need a little help with clips

Hi:
I downloaded the clips and burned a few of them to a CD. When I play the files in the LinkPlayer, the picture, though very sharp, seems to stutter irregularly and there is no sound at all. If I play the files from the same CD in my computer using Windows Media Player 10 I get the same stutter and a little bit of stuttering sound. If I play the files directly off my hard drive with WMP 10 I get smooth video but still the stuttering sound. My computer is plenty powerful and is supposed to be the most compatible with the Sony cameras (it is a Sony VAIO) and both the computer and the Linkplayer are able to play other HD files.

Am I missing something??

Thanks,
Joseph

Yes, a faster Hard Disk. Your current HD is too slow, get a HDD with an RPM of 7200 or faster and then get VLC media player, It's availible at videolan.org.

Thanks

My hard drive is 7200 RPM and my computer is 3.6 Ghz. I get smooth video off the hard drive - only the audio is stuttering. Is everyone else getting smooth video and smooth audio as well??

I've got smooth video and audio, and that's on my Pentium M laptop.

Having used digital SLR's for several years now and knowing what a huge high res still looks like, it's really, really weird to see it now as video. The images are impressive, though the interlacing stinks when you get into motion (even with the compensation of the player).

If you haven't seen some of the QT7 video in HD, check that out... it's a great reference (if your machine can even display it at the full frame rate anyway).

I finally got the clips to play smoothly and with sound by serving them to the LinkPlayer from my computer through a wired router (I guess I was up against the limit of my wireless connection to the Linkplayer - though it works fine for WMV-HD) They look really good

They still won't play right on my computer but I think the problem is WMP 10 rather than the computer.

Try MV2 Player...

.. i had similar problems.
Apparently MV2 Player selected a different Codec than WMP 10 from the variety i had installed on my Machine.

By the way does anyone know how to instruct WMV10 ( or any directshow player) to use a given codec, and how to be informed of the currently used rendering chain ??
