With the adapter ON I would increase sharpness in steps on a target like a church cross. When you start to outlines -- turn it back a notch. And, yes most leneses are bad at full open so your friend is right. Try f3.6 ot f4.

Hey Steve,

Just wanted to kind of thank you indirectly. I was trying to figure out how to get the most range out of my exposure, and came across an article you wrote here. Didn't realize I had a histogram on my camera until I read the article... now I just need to figure out how to adequately use it.

Question about adapter build

I have previously built an adapter modeled for a dvx100/fx1, which was based off of the "enormous apparatus" desing - but was then improved upon by "twocik23" on the dvxuser, forums. however the fx1s are outta stock and it doesn't look like I'll be able to get one in time for a project I have next week...and truthfully the small size of the a1u, being on the road, etc. might be worth it in sight of the tradeoffs (namely for me no neato iris knobs).

Normally I'd be using a 72mm--->58mm step down ring...am i right in assuming instead of that I'll be using a 37mm---->58mm *STEP UP* ring to allow my existing adapter to work on the a1u?

Adaptor Specs

Hi Matthew,

I recently bought a HVR-A1U and would love to find out the specs on your adaptor setup and pictures if possible. If you could also line out the prices of everything that would be great.

Ben
