Recommended Retailers for HVR-A1U

I recommended B&H to a production company that wanted to purchase the Sony HVR-A1U, but they twice had problems with their order and are now looking for a different company to buy the camera from. What other retailers have people used and would recommend?

Thanks in advance!

What kind of problems did they have? I had a slight problem with BH, but it wasn't a big deal for me - they shipped my order out way too late, but I didn't need to have the camera for awhile.

I don't think we're allowed to talk about non-sponsored retailers here.

Have you tried Express Video Supply, also listed under the DVInfo sponsors? (http://www.dvinfo.net/sponsors/index.php)

This is off topic, but are you the same Jessica Gallant that shot LIFE 2.0? I really enjoyed it, especially being a long-time Optura Pi user myself (though I recently purchased the HC1). :-)

I don't really want to go into details - I've ordered from them before and haven't had any problems.

Oh lordy, yes it's me. "Life 2.0" turned out pretty well for the budget ($500?) and our 2 1/2 day shooting schedule (though it's far from my best work). My poor Optura Pi was ruined on the last feature I shot (we shot on film, but were using my camera for the flashback sequences) because the production company rented a cheaper underwater housing than the one I wanted, and it leaked. <sigh>

Well, sorry to hear about the camera (may it rest in peace). It was nice work (especially considering budget, time, and the use of a consumer cam) even if it isn't your best. :-)
