HC1 DV Wide Select

Hi
Can anyone help? On the Standard Set Menu on the HC1 camera, under DV Set, there is an option to select DV Wide Select 16:9 wide. But when I try to select this and press ok, the camera refuses to allow this menu to be successfully selected. Why would this be??? I am hoping there is some straightforward obvious answer to this question that I have somehow missed in my frustration!

You cannot select this option because you first need to set the camera from HDV1080i to DV. I think it's the option menu before the standard set menu. Then you can set wide or 4:3.

Thanks Chris...that thought had crossed my mind......as it makes sense...but then again.....menu's and manuals are sometimes so illogical...I was still unsure. I am assuming having the camera set to HDV1080i should mean it should automatically record 16:9 anyway.

Correct - HDV1080i is 16:9 by definition... so yes it will be widescreen.
