Capturing footage taken from another HD cam

I was wondering if anyone had experience with capturing footage with another HD camera, in this case a JVC 720p, then capturing with the SONY HC1 ? The tape plays back fine on the sony itself but I cannot seem to capture the footage. Ive tried capturing with HDlink, premiere, and vegas, and Ive tried capturing in DV mode as well to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have a JVC HD1 and while my Sony HC1 will play the tapes it definitely doesn't support capture from them over firewire.

The only workaround I can suggest would be to find a way to capture the component (analog) HD output.
