How to calculate the Focal Lengths

Hi,

Can you give me some advices how did you do to claculate the focal lengths on the HVR-HD1000. Nothing is write on the lense ring.

Also can you give me the size in centimeter of the CMOS Sensor.

Thanks to all, I need this compositing job.

Google's calculator thinks the CMOS chip is about 0.876cm, which looks about right on the ruler beside me :-)

The actual answer I got was: (1/2.9) inch = 0.875862069 centimeters

Googling for hvr-d1000 focal length got me this answer:

Focal length
16:9 video mode: 40 to 400mm
4:3 video mode: 49 to 490mm
16:9 photo mode: 40 to 400mm
4:3 photo mode: 37 to 370mm
