Well, now I think I need some help?

You have written so much about polarizer, that I'm kind of lost.

I need a Polarizer with 62mm tread for V1E. I need it only to reduce glare, when I'm filming over or in to water (fly fishing)

I used to have a round filter, screw on type, with my PD-150. The filter was in two parts, one of the glass disks was turning, with a little lever, until the glare was educed,

Now B&H hat 53 (!!) models of 62mm Polarizer, from 350 $ to 15 $, the product photos don’t show the filter it self

What would you recommend for my purpose and for my camera?
Best would be, if I can leave the sunshade on, and the filter underneath it, but then how to turn it?

the only difference is you're wanting to put it the stock lens, myself, on the kit wide angle AND still fit lens hood, and the hard part, turn the polarizer....

hence my obsession with getting the cheapest, functional matte box with rotating filter holder.

if you come up with a better alternative, please,please let me know!

no longer listed on ebay - who was the supplier?

i'm not sure it would necessarily work with the v1p wa (86mm) - exactly how deep is the filter ring - my hoya uv is 4mm (also threaded both sides), but i can't use it with the lens hood. i think the max would be 2mm?

and of course, your adaptation is solely for the polariser, whereas i was looking to also utilise gradient nd's and the like. i also am not sure i have the patience, inclination, let alone talent, to start reworking the lens hood design.

it is (was) a X-pro filter holder from cokin.(cut and glued on the original sunshade already modified for the polarizer, so now it is an all-in-one-do-it-all-got-a-killer-look sunshade)

There is a nice offer from B&H for a set of 3 ND filter +holder for about 188$

I got a cheap mattebox from India with adapter for 52/58/72mm thread and i can sell it, but you have to manage the adapter from 72 to 62 for example.
it can accept 4x4 filter (cokin is doing some for cheap) and has a french flag.

For the polarizer, i broke mine (do not know how, but i leave it in a pocket of my backpack, not boxed, and when i removed it from the pocket, there was a circular scratch in the center).
So i ordered a new one..

(the guy moved from ebay.com to ebay.com.hk, so the site is chinese and you can pay only with HK dollars, but the guy was nice enough to send me a paypal request for payment, so i had nothing to do than return it).

but if you search on ebay for "Hoya THIN Circular POLARIZER SUPER HMC" you will find a lot of them for cheap.

but i think it would not work because either it needs to rotate the filter holder or require a round filter (you will see the filter frame in the corner).
I just check and effectively the x160 is a round filter, so it would no cover all the camera field of view.
