Cinema-tone Gamma

although i have had my FX-7 a couple of years i never bothered with the Cinema tone Gamma as i always thought it is just a gimmick. however recently i tried a bit of filming with it and in some ways i prefer it to being off.

What do other FX-7 users think of the function and do any use it much.

I use it from time to time, but I find it tends to crush the blacks in the shadows. But overall a very pretty look. Not sure it looks like film, though.

You loose too much detail in the shadows--better to leave the detail there, and crush blacks as you want in post. Once the info is gone, it is gone forever.

yes for most filming it is not needed, so best left off.

whatever you need do in post. if you ain't got it, you can't adjust it....
