fx7 release date
 

I've heard that the FX7 is supposed to become available in the US in October, but does anyone have a date certain?

The press kit says "December 2006." Sometimes Sony has surprised people with an early release, like the FX1 which took just about everyone by surprise when we were thinking it was maybe 6 months away. OTOH, manufacturers sometimes keep tweaking things right up to the last minute to get the best results.

(edit - sorry, I was refering to the V1 release date)

Funny enough, the sony canada press release says it will be available in November 2006. But I still can't find the official canadian Price. Anyone?

Oh, so the FX7 will be released at the same time as the V1? I thought maybe they were going to do something similar to their staggered release for the FX1 and Z1 ...

Hey, if the FX7 comes out in Canada in November, there may be a whole lot of people heading to Canada, and not just because of Bush* ;)

Sorry guys, I didn't notice that you were asking about the FX7. The December date is for the V1, don't know about the FX7.... mea culpa.

Loved the unsolicited political humor enough to spend a few seconds to help you out and here is the official line on the FX7 shipping timeframe for you (from Sony) :
"Expected to ship on or before November 10th, 2006. "

I hope there's enough space in Canada..

both hvr-v1 and hdr-fx7 to be released in nov by sony

You certainly could be right, and Canada could be different. But at the US press conference the fliers they handed out said December 2006. Guess we'll just have to wait a couple of months and see what happens...
