This is meant to transmit 25ft to your TV - would this work for capturing not raw, but say cineform or sheer, lossless compression into your NLE?

It is amazing to see what sort of gizmos companies come up with to fill the gap that is created by the HD DVD vs Blu Ray war and the delay of a reliable, affordable and widely available HD player-recorder.
These products are based on the finding that HD contents today can be played mostly from computers only and these usually are not in a living room but in some other rooms in an average home.
I think this affects most of us who would like to see our edited HD materials on big screens, but so far usually we have only DVD as output.
For PC-s there are some blu ray (and HD DVD) burners available, nothing for the Mac (what a disappointment to see the recent Jobs Keynote on iPhone, instead of an announcement of Mac Pros with Blu Ray burner...)

Similar to this stuff is the new Apple TV - but that primarily tries to get customers to purchase movies from iTunes store...although it might work with 720p movies from the hard disk - providing one has the right Intel Mac around...and it has no 1080 support...
