wide angle of standard lens FX7

I was wondering, how is the wide angle of the standard lens
from the FX7. Is it good enough to take good shots in a living room.
For example: When I have a small living room, and it is full of people
for a brithday party. How will the FX7's standard lens handle that situation?

You need a wide angle lens for your small room.

So its angle is not that good as, for example, the Canon XH A1?

Has the FX7's standard lens a wider angle than most consumer
camera's have? Or can the FX7's lens angle be compared to that of the smaller consumer cams?

My old sony dcr-trv25e its lens angle was very bad, so I hope that the wide angle of the FX7 is better.
Anyone can explain a bit more how the angle is in comparison to other cams?

The FX7 has a wide angle of 59 degrees. The HV20s' is 50 degrees, while the Sony HC7 is 38 degrees.

In focal length terms (35mm equivalents) the Fx7 is 37.4mm and the XHA1 is i believe about 34mm. So FX7 isnt as wide as the XHA1.

Yes it does. most consumer cams tend to be about 48mm, something like that. So FX7 is much wider than most consumer cams. But i think you'll find you need a wider-angle still for certain situations.

FX1/Z1 is about 34mm and so is XHA1, FX7/V1 isnt as wide. Wide angle lenses exist from Raynox - HD7000PRo, (step ring required), upcoming Raynox HD7062Pro 0.7x (62mm thread), and Century have a new 62mm thread 0.65x WA lens coming out. Sony have their 0.8x VCL-HG0862 lens.
