FX7 Glove/Cover...

I've only been finding stuff for FX1 and Z1 which have the LCD on top... I want to be able to use my LCD (with LCD Hood)

I just need a cover to protect the camera, I film paintball and don't care about getting shot, cameras are durable enough to stand the impact, it's the paint getting in there :) ... I always run a filter in front of the lense, never been hit directly on my other cameras...

Regardless... I've been looking at Portabrace and Kata...

Portabrace has a rain cover that seems pretty nice, would be good for Washington and "extreme" situations and should protect it from paint but it's $160

I'll keep looking around but I haven't seen any made specifically for FX7 except the portabrace

I'm looking for more of a neoprene cover just to protect it... Kata has one for the Z1 that looks decent..

Can you give me a link to the Kata you are talking about?

It worked well for me, but does not fit the FX7 perfectly.

You have to pull the zipper forward and it contorts the cover slightly, you can still use all of the features and it protects it well, but the lens-hood part of the cover gets pulled back and tightens around the manual focus, you won't be able to use the focus ring but you can use the zoom-ring...

You do have to remove the cover (2 velcro parts, and 1 zipper) to access the tapes, but I've got it down to where I can switch a tape in 60 seconds and have the cover back on...

You can still use the LCD screen with that cover? Looks like it would be too tight.

The plastic does push a bit on the LCD, but I stuck a hood on it and it's still very usable... probably 85* instead of 90* to the camera...
