More competant? Hmm. I doubt it. But in this one little area of distributing HDV content, I was an early adopter.

Stevens point is really about creating a market for a certain level of clientelle..

I have the same problem in my legal profession.... I may not choose to work with a certain level of clientelle for my own reasons. A choice to a lower end market is as valid as Steve's, I would think.

Sure it is. It is just that the higher end clientele is more profitable. That doesn't mean we should ignore people who own VCRs. They are good reliable customers also. I may have the HDTV set up while I edit, but I also have a VCR and a small television to service the entire spectrum.

It certainly takes all kinds of people to make the world what it is. And God bless the differences. It would be boring otherwise.

One other note that I would like to bring up. If you shoot HDV with the intention of editing SD, you can capture the HDV and put it on the SD timeline. You can scale it down, or you can basically get much closer to your subject by panning instead of scaling down.
