Bought a Z1 - It's awesome.
And by awesome, I mean totally sweet.
Nothing important here, just wanted to expel some more energy since I bought a Z1P today and am over-the-moon happy with it. I've barely put it down since I brought it home. I also wanted to thank everyone here who answered my questions and filled me in on world of HDV and helped in leading me to the Z1. Regards, -- John. |
Congratulations on the new camera John, glad you're pleased with it. Stay in touch and let us know the kinds of things you're using it for.

I have no company, work for nobody, and forked out a large part of my savings on this baby to make movies and seeing that makes me feel all the more comfortable that I've made a good choice. |

wow what was that edited in? |
pretty sure it was FCP
Does anyone know how to edit z1 footage to looks so 24fps like and so filmic? I'm thinking about getting a z1 and if I knew that, that would clinch it. |

This seems to be a perfectly simple solution to me. I am miles off trying it though; has anyone here had a go at this? Or has anyone here gone that final step and transferred their Z1 footage to film? |
A recent issue of DV Magazine (December I think) had an article by John Jackman about transfering Z1 footage to film. They also shot 50i, then sent clips to two different labs and arranged a screening for several DOP's to observe. The article is on their site here:
