Fireworks and the rolling shutter

OK, so we all know of the effects the rolling shutter has when the camera flash goes off but what can we expect when filming fireworks. Anyone filmed fireworks with a Z5, Z& or FX1000.

My guess is you're probably ok. The only ones to watch for are the big bomb fireworks that generate a quick, bright white light blast.

I just went filming in some clubs with the Z5 and there were no artifacts with any the lighting, lasers, stobes, all kinds of stuff, *except* the ones that were single bright flashes that lit up the place - then I got pretty bad rolling shutter artifacts.

Thanks Ben.

Thanks Gary, by the look at what you posted the rolling shutter cams are a no no for fireworks.

Gary - thanks you for that link - significant "artifacting" (new word) - :-(
