Finding usage hours on the FX1000?
 

Anyone know where to find the usage hours on this camera? I couldn't find it in the menus.

Sony Hours meters do not show on the FX 1, and I think that was carried forward to other FX cameras. These are considered "prosumer" level cameras and don't have the same level of support as Z cameras. Hours can be read at shop, however.

That's correct. Only the pro level Z series have an hours meter accessible via the menus. The FX series must be read in a shop via a diagnostic remote by the tech.

Thanks for letting me know. So I guess when I sell it and say "low hours" they'll just have to take my word for it?

Um, I guess that's one way of looking at it. Or, you could take it in and include the report when you sell it, which is what I always did when I sold my FXes. Or they can do so after they receive it and return it if the hours aren't as low as you've promised, which is a nice guarantee you can offer.
