Hmmm ... wonder what this little button does???

Can anybody tell me what the tiny rectangularl rubber button does -- it's located just to the left of the SEL / PUSH EXEC dial and to the right of the round ONE PUSH button?

It almost looks like it's a reset button of some sort -- so I don't want to push it while the camera is fired up.

I've checked the manual, and can't find anything. I'm certainly not worried that it's all that important . . . but it's kind of a curiousity.

Wow that is a mystery. It doesn't seem to move in or anything. Kind of does look like a reset button.

Its a self destruct button

I noticed that as well, and think it's on some other cameras as well. It feels and moves more like a spacer than an actual button.

Marshall . . . since everything is going so well with your new Z7U . . . DON'T PUSH THE MYSTERY BUTTON!!! ;)

I thought it might be some sort of guide to help you "feel" your way around the various buttons in this region of the cam, but Sony usually have a raised dot that is moulded into the plastic body instead. Perhaps it's a "plug" for a button / feature that was planned for the camera, but didn't make it to the final release.

If anyone has the guts to push the button while the camera is running, please let us know what happens.

Thanks ....
Ian

Its probably the button that makes the lens work correctly and Sony forgot to include it :(
