HVR-S270 shutter setting incorrect? How to fix it??

Hi again all,

I think I might have been a little harsh on the 270 when trialling it recently.

One of my complaints when watching the vision from either the card or tape, was that the vision was "jittery" and had a kind of strobe effect to it which made it look wrong.

I was advised to look at the data on the code from the tape. All I could see that was out of place, was what appeared to be a number representing perhaps the shutter speed above the F number on the data code, and this was changing its value at every new shot.

Did I have the shutter set incorrectly, or turned on when it should have been off?

Does anyone know what could have been causing the strobe effect?

Cheers,

David

I always set my shutter at 100 for shooting at 1080i 50i I dont like the flicker effect at lower rates.

David,
Check the other thread also but to reiterate, if it's like the 250 there is a switch in the front of the camera (at least its there on the 250) that reads 'shutter'. This switch must be in the 'ON' position. It seems counter-intuitive but this places the manual shutter control in the hands of the operator.
At least thats how it is on the 250.
