Z7U missing clips from CF card?

This is a new one on me. Just going thru an edit, after having transferred the files (using the sony utility) from the CF card to the PC to the Avid, looking for a specific shot... It's not there. I know I shot it, and it IS on the MiniDV tape I shot simultaneously. The shot before it is on the card as is the shot after, just not that shot.

I have another shot I know I took, a wide shot of an entrance, but can't find that one in the bin ( I copied them all after importing from the CF card using the Sony utility.) Again the shots before and after are there ( Ihaven't checked the tape on that one yet.)

Anyone else experienced this? Thankfully it's on the tape, but it worries me that it could do something like this... I'd had to miss critical shots because of some glitch.

I had a clip that didn't record once before. I had stopped recording and started recording again almost instantly. I think it confused the buffer system and it didn't record to the card.

I thought of something like that, but not in this instance. I actually packed up the gear, drove across the street, unpacked, all to get a wider exterior shot. The other thought I had was that I had turned off the MRC unit, but I never do that and wouldn't for just one shot, and the driving (shhhhhh !) shots afterwards were on the card.

It's weird. I haven't had chance to check the other tape for the other shot that appears missing, that would might fit into your scenario.

I've had this same thing happen to me. The shot's on the tape, but not on the card. My theory is that I pushed the start/stop button too fast, the same scenario that Greg described. These days I'm vigilant in making sure that I see both the tape and CF record indicators lit-up while rolling. It seems to only happen when shooting simultaneously to tape / CF.
