Good for Web streaming?

Hi Everyone,

Our church is looking for a new(er) camera for our webcasts. Currently we are using a Z1U which is still holding on, however they have fundraised some cash to upgrade some equipment. We were originally looking at a PTZ option, however the ones we can afford do not work as well as we would like.

Wondering if anyone has used the z5 or z7 on live web streaming and if they are as good as something like an NX5 or would those be a better option? . There are some really good deals on the old HDV cameras and since we do not need to record in camera, I thought this would be a great way to get a good deal on a nice camera.

Thanks

Re: Good for Web streaming?

I'm still hatching my plans for a modest web streaming production and have thought of using my old Z5 as one of the video sources: HDMI into a BlackMagic ATEM Mini into a PC up to YouTube. IIRC, HDMI out of the Z5 is 1080/60i which should be more than fine for my stream.

This should work, but I won't know for sure until B&H decides to ship me the ATEM Mini which has been on backorder forever.
