Just wondering

Does anyone come here anymore? I recently obtained a VG30 and am having a lot of fun with it as it is a pretty neat little camera.

Re: Just wondering

Good question... I was giving some serious thought to moving this section to the archives, but who knows. That camera is more than ten years old. Are the batteries in good shape?

Re: Just wondering

Actually the two I have are OK - they are after market items. I just picked up a SELP18200 for $200.00 that I have been using. I was using my NEX5R but wanted some better audio capabilities.

On another note, I have been looking for a cheap XLH1 body as my tape drive took a dump. Believe it or not those are not too cheap

Re: Just wondering

I still check in occasionally. Still got a VG-20 which was recently mocked up as an Arriflex news film camera, fitted with an HDMI transmitter and a pancake lens and used as a stage prop to project live video in a production of the musical 'NINE'.
The stabiliser in the kit zoom failed ten years ago and since there was not a 4K VG or E-mount camera in the pipeline it was not worth repairing the lens. I ditched Sony and went Panasonic for 4K and haven't looked back. A pity, because I liked the hybrid stills/video design and the interchangeable lenses.
