Event Coverage - Best Resolution?

I've been commissioned to cover a live awards event in a few weeks, it will be the first time I'm using the NX5 in a real situation.

What resolution setting would you think would be the best for the situation? I'm thinking 1080/30p?

What are your thoughts?

Jay West January 29th, 2011 11:04 PM

Do you like working with 30p?

Are you shooting multi-cam? What do the other cams shoot?

Frankly, I do not think there will be any noticeable difference between 30p and 30i (what we used to call 60i). Most awards programs --- at the least the ones that I've shot --- are pretty static so 30p would not present problems with motion artifacts, which is the reason I've usually avoided it.

On what media will you be delivering the video?

Like Jay I don't like the motion artifacts of slow frame rates so always use 60i since the other cameras in the shoot are 60i anyway.
