NX5 Exposure Meter?
I've had my NX5 for a couple days now, and I can't seem to find an exposure meter. (looked through the manual and watched the training DVD that came with it)
My old Canons had a meter on the LCD which visually aided in dialing in the exposure. I can't seem to find anything like that on the Sony. Am I missing something? Thanks! |
Are you referring to a HISTOGRAM?
|
...or ZEBRAS?
|
Maybe you are asking about the kind of light meter display seen on SLRs and DSLRs?
There isn't one on an NX5. You use the zebra stripes and histograms that Lou and Adam point out. It is a different way of working. |
Thanks Jay. I googled it and found an earlier thread on here and an article by Adam Wilt where it said there is no histogram function on the NX5U.
Zebras it is. |

Think this a a quite unique feature only canon has, I relied on this all the time for judging exposure and used zebra's for fine tuning. My canon is on sale now and I'm sure I will miss this feature a lot. |
It's odd that there's no histogram on the NX when Panasonic's much cheaper 150/1 has it. Not that I miss it much as there's so much info up there on screen, and Sony's tiny 1.5 mm font means you really have to concentrate.
