Re: can fs100 do time-lapse?

As far as I know, it will do 1 frame per second, as part of its S&Q. But it cant go lower then that. I've heard of cameras that can go down to 1 frame a day if you wanted. So it can do timelapse, but there isn't great control.

Re: can fs100 do time-lapse?

There is a misleading/'marketing' video which is on Youtube which
may be the basis of these claims. This is a video produced by
Panasonic to promote the AF100. In it, they talk about '50 additional
features that the AF100 has, that the FS100 does NOT have.' Some
of them are misleading. For example, one of the claimed features
of the AF100 that the FS100 is lacking is 'interval recording'.
Now, I'm not sure how they decided this, as the FS100 certainly
HAS interval recording. The AF100 has more 'variable frame rates'
but the FS100 can certainly do 'interval recording'. Your
options may be more limited, but the 1fps stuff is pretty much
the standard for timelapse, although as others pointed out, there
may times you want to use something different like 1 frame per
hour.....which the AF100 doesn't do either. Some of the claims
on the video are just a blatant falsehood, for example,
another claimed 'advantage' the AF100 has over the FS100
is a 'speaker'. As an owner of the FS100, I can tell you the
FS100 has this 'feature' as well, unless I just got a 'special'
FS100. There are a few more like 'zoom position indicator' and
so on, which they claim the FS100 doesn't have, but in fact, it
does. So bottom line is, there is truth, lies, and marketing.
Don't always believe that the last one is totally either one
of the other two.....it usually falls somewhere between.
