Guess I missed the Pearl mic being mentioned...are you using a DS60? If so...holy crap...what a mic

The DS60 is the ultimate mic for this work, I would love to have one. But a little pricey.
I have the Pearl MS 8CL Mid-Side mic. It is a good fit......hard to damage it, M-S let's me control the amount of room ambience, and great sound quality.
