First shoot with FS700

We rented an FS700 for a two-day shoot for a new DVD we are producing. Loved it. Love the images, and the slow-motion just makes the subject of firearms.

The primary lens was a Nikon 17-35mm f/2.8. Also used a Nikon 135mm f/2 DC and an older Nikon 70-210mm f/4.

I'll be buying a couple of the Sonys immediately.

I wanted the saturation cranked up for the trailer. I just like the look.

Looks great Tom. Nice use of slow-motion and speed ramping. Were you shooting with a flat picture profile?

Looks nice, though I have seen this before and that's with extreme slowmotion that there is some nasty moire going on which looks as bad as 720p 50p on a canon dslr (at 01:00, if you look at his cap) Is this a side effect when you shoot at very high frames/sec?

Yes. I was producing/directing. Had two shooters (camera, that is). We also shot a Canon XF100. One of the shooters edited this. I don't want to try to take credit for that. I got the camera and put together the concept.

I also spotted that puddle and went for the reflection shot as well as the empty cases hitting the water. That worked out.

No doubt we'll use the FS700 a lot over the next couple of years on our two television series about guns and shooting. Pretty much custom made for that.

This will replace the DSLR for that shallow depth of field look, also. Lots to learn about using this camera.

Just ordered the FS700 body. It's obvious from our first shoot that we'll use the heck out of this platform.
