An interesting look, very Super8. The added noise in some places is playing havoc with the online compression though, always hard to make that work well with highly compressed video.

Might I suggest you drop your exposure levels by a stop to prevent all the blow outs that make the otherwise filmic look, look like video. Looks like you were well into the high end of a Cinegamma or SLog and it's crushing your highlights making a filmic roll off hard to achieve.

One interesting point I always come across when working for YouTube delivery:
it always looks to me like YouTube encoders lose 1/2-1 stops in exposure.
That's why my uploaded master file is always a bit overexposed - to compensate for this.
Have you noticed this?

In this production the budget was very limited - so recording was made in-camera (in the FS-700)
so my dynamic range was limited to begin with.
And here in Israel the contrast outdoors is just a killer...

No, I have not noticed a loss of exposure on YouTube myself.

Are you using full range 0-255 for your post or limiting to 100% (0-235)? That might explain the difference as you need to go all the way to 255 for web delivery etc. Not sure but Avid may restrict you to 235 to stay "broadcast safe". Maybe someone else that uses Avid could comment on this.

If your dynamic range is limited then it's better to under expose a little, you can always bring your levels up a little in post, but if your over, even by the tiniest bit there's nothing you can do about it and it won't look great.
