Frezzi microfill for PDX10 ?

I recently bought a frezzi microfill for my Pdx 10.
I love the light, great construction and quality.
I'm kinder having second thoughts about the total cost spent on light and battery. Do you guys think it was a great purchase. The light fits very nicely on the cam. I will be doing some night shooting in jamaica this summer and also to use as fill.

Frezzi makes fine lights!
Which type did you buy?
How did you attach it?

jan, I bought the frezzi Microfill with Xlr connector and Frezzi battery. Its attached to cold shoe on
Pdx 10 XLR audio adapter.

I definitely wouldn't have second thoughts on a light like that. Of course I'm using a $50 Sunpak from B&H so anything would be an upgrade to me! :)

I may be in need of an on camera light soon. How severe is the "deer in the headlight" effect? I would only want a subtle eye light/fill and most on camera lights are just too much. Can the amount you add be controlled? Is it dimmable? If so does the color temperature change alot?

Gregg Richards March 21st, 2004 10:44 AM

Paul

No severe deer in the headlight effect. The light is somewhat diffused. It has a frosted glass cap over the actual bulb & dimmer controlled. @ full 35watt you'll notice some change in color. I brought the micro-fill accessory which includes diffuser, barndoors and dichroic filter.
I hope I answered your Question.

Thanks Greg, it sounds like what I may be looking for. What did it cost and where did you get it if you don't mind me asking?

Gregg Richards March 26th, 2004 01:15 AM

No problem, the microfill cost $244, the barndoor acessory $149 from BH. Below is a link to the light on their website.

You can also buy a soft light box for that light that really doesn't soften things up quite a bit.
