More toys - hee hee
 

Well my friends,
I am shooting a music video promotional piece with an old producer pal of mine Saturday so earlier this week, I spent some major money and bought the following to add to the collection of camera gear:

Century Optics WA adapter
Varizoom VZRock zoom/focus controller
Bogen 501 head to replace the 3130QR on the 3011BN sticks
Bogen 3127 dolly
Glidecam 2000
CraneCam 200

I have everything put together except the crane. I hope to get to it tomorrow evening after my Tai Chi classes.

If anyone wants to buy the nearly brand-new 3130QR (quick release) head, I'll let it go at wholesale to recoup my outlay. Make an offer.

How do you like the GlideCam 2000? How much did it cost you, if you don't mind my asking.

What I paid isn't market value as I worked for a Broadcast equipment dealer for a few years until a month or so ago and I could buy all this wonderful stuff at wholesale cost.

So far I have shot the music video with it and the producer/editor tells me it looks great. I have yet to see the finished product but will this weekend I think.

Sean, when you say Century Optics WA adapter, which one do you mean? Is it the .65 model, or the smaller, wider angled one (I think that one is .55)?

Hope that makes sense...

Also--how do you like that Azden wireless?

Well, the WA is the more expensive .65 HR (High Resolution) which has clean zoom-through. I went with it as I had heard from others on the forums that the .55 might be giving folks too much barrel distortion and that it wasn't meant to be a zoom through. This one is a bit less wide but has the zoom range.

On the Azden. It aint the best I ever used but I will say that I had a rental Lectrosonic UHF system on a shoot just after I bought the Azden and the Azden saved the shoot. The Lectro kept dropping in and out. I had just picked the Azden up a few days before and threw it and the batteries in as a spare.

Worked flawlessly across a ballroom for a series of corporate presentations and saved the shoot.
