frame rate for pd150

I'd like to know which is the frame rate for this model in the PAl version.

Zac Stein May 24th, 2003 10:56 AM

It is 50i, which is 50 fields per second, in video mode. That translates to 25fps.

It's progressive scan mode is 15fps, which is not usuable for standard video.

so there is no difference between the frame rate of pd 150 pal and panasonic dvx 100?

Tom Hardwick May 24th, 2003 12:22 PM

If it's a PAL version you have Luca then it does 12.5fps PS or make that 25 full resolution frames every 2 seconds. The PD150 runs at twice this rate in prog scan.

They are both pal, but only the dvx100 is capable of 25fps in a progressive scan mode.

The PAL PD150 does normal PAL: 50 fields per second (that's 50 1/2 frames).

In progressive mode it does 12.5 frames per second.

The PAL DVX also captures 50 fields per second, like all PAL cams, but has the option to shoot 25 full frames per second.

pd 150 pal dvx 100 pal

so it would be better for making films, or the difference between the two is just matter of preference?
