PD 170 emerges Beyond Realm of Rumor

By the way, there IS going to be a PD 170 available this fall... Yesterday when I was picking the brains of the Sony prof div tech guys about the resolution of the PDX 10, I had a question about the replacement of the 150.
He was totally surprised when I directed him to http://users.pandora.be/verhoeven.peter/blog/DSRPD170.pdf under SONY News (google search DSR-PD 170).
Sales said that it does exist and wouldn't say more (price, release date, etc.) other than that it will be out soon.
Great... something else to fret over in the mix of which one to buy!
Do I try for a deal on the discontinued model?
Do I get the latest development before it gets the shake down cruise for a year or so?
Do I go for the little guy (PDX 10)?
Thank God I'm not under a tight deadline!

Cancel that- It IS just a hoax

I was called back by Sony today to go over some technical questions I had about the PDX 10 (I will post that info elsewhere).
They said that they have no immediate plans to replace the 150 and that the brochure was a hoax. I was taken in because I got to it through the SONY NEWS section of their site, and my conversation yesterday with Sony sales in which they said that it would be out this fall. (I guess the lady was just covering for her lack of info about it).
Anyway, I feel like an idiot... consider this my "freshman initiation"

You're not the first and definitely won't be the last.

That PDF is a classic with its 17p and weirdness mode! :)

Does low light performance mean anything to you?

If it does and you have very little control of lighting then I'd snag a VX2000/PD150.

Low light means a good bit to me but widescreen is my #1 priority along with size (has to be small).
