Is the PD 150 "TRUE" progressive scan?

Is the PD 150 TRUE progressive scan or pseudo progressive scan like the Canon XL1s?

Mike Rehmus September 11th, 2003 09:24 AM

Guess you need to define 'true.'

Andre De Clercq September 11th, 2003 10:12 AM

PD150 has true prog scan in terms of capturing a full frame at the time (so, not the green blending story like Canon does), BUT it only refreshes 15 (12.5 for PAL) times/sec.. so it's a 15p concept. It keeps full vertical resolution as long as the shutter is set at 1/60 (1/50) or faster.

Thank you so much. I guess, then, the AG DVX is a true 30p?

Barry Green September 11th, 2003 10:22 PM

The DVX100 is true 30P and true 24P. The PD150 has true 15P.
