PD150 Phantom Powering/Battery Drain

Anyone have any idea the affect phantom powering has
on how long the battery will last before it runs out of juice
and needs to be recharged. Reason I ask is I'm planning
a shoot where I'm going to be feeding two mics 48V
the whole time. Will this shorten my normal camera run time?

Dave,
I really don't thnk it will and if it does it won't be any appreciable amount.
My opinion only, no scientific studies were done, however I do think I will appy for a large government grant to study the cause and effect ;-o

Most mic spec sheets show the current draw for them. A Sennheiser K6 draws 2.2 milliamps. In compairison, a PD 2100 draws about 700 milliamps. The draw from the mic's shouldn't even be noticable.

Thanks, guys. Guess I'll put off buying another battery.
