Can someone explain to me some info about PD150/PD170?

I would like to find more information on these camcorders. What's different about them in comparison to VX2100/2000 & the GL2? The only I've heard is that the PD150/PD170 is a VX2100/2000 with new features like a frame movie mode (similar to Canon's), and is aimed toward the "more true" professionals.

Yes, the PD170 is sold through Sony Professional. :-)) The PD170 has Sony's more robust DVCAM recording mode, XLRs, and comes in black instead of Handycam silver.

There is no frame movie mode in the 2000/2100 or 150/170.

The 150 and 170 have (to me) significant advantages in my video business. Professional sound support, DVCam, better support from Sony and a few other bits and pieces.

If you do a search on this forum, you should be able to find the listings of differences.

For any application with low light levels, the Sony products are superior to the Canon. For applications in good light, you need to decide for yourself.
