Will the PD-150 be replaced soon?

I'm seriously considering getting a PD-150 as a second camera. Does anyone know if the PD-150 is going to be replaced soon or is there a good year left in this model? From the research I have done, the PD-150/VX-2000 seem to be the best in low light with high image quality and that is what I want. I'm just hoping that there isn't a PD-150s right around the corner:-)

It is highly unlikely that there will be a PD-150 replacement in the near future. This model has only been out for a couple of years, and the predecessor to the vx2k/pd150 (the vx1000) was on the shelves for 5 years before it was replaced.

It still competes very well with the competition (XL1s primarily), so there would be little need in Sony replacing the model.

The aging TRV900 has only now just been replaced by the TRV950 (and the DVCAM equivalent PD100A by the PDX10), so I think it's safe to say that the VX2000, PD150 & DSR250 family will be around for awhile longer.

I asked the same question of a Sony rep at DVExpo and at NAB. They said no.

VX-2000 still being made, available?

Does anyone know if the Sony VX-2000 has been discontinued? Is it still being made and sent to stores? Are the VX2000's hard to find? Any suggestions on where to go for a good deal in the NY/NJ area? Thanks. kagey111.

Check out Armato's. They have the loner program in case you have trouble and they can't get your camera back within 48 hours. As long as you own the camera the program is in effect. 800-628-6801 Good Luck
