megapixel question

The PD-150 advertisizes capturing stills in VGA 640X480. What does this mean in terms of mega-pixels, the standard of most still, digital cameras?

Thanks,

Michael

Multipy 640 by 480 and you get about 0.3 megapixels

Since most good consumer digital still camera are 6.3 megapixels right now, .3 seems like pretty low quality, right? How is this feature beneficial then?

Michael, video cams are for shooting video, still cams are for shooting stills. The PD150 is a professional video cam. With frame grabs for the web, this low resolution is all you need.

I see your point. It will be better than the still frames that I use for the web now, but I'll just have to carry around my still cam as well for better stills. Thanks for the clarification, Frank.

Dude, my cell phone takes 640x480 pictures, not great, but for web pages that's probably all you need.
