If it has a back focus problem, you should have a talk with Sony as that is an (factory service) adjustable item.

How to find out: In low light (but not too low), go in manual focus, open your iris to its max, zoom in on a far object (or a focus chart if you have one), focus manually, then zoom out. At this point, your object (or chart) will not be perfectly in focus like it normaly should.

The GL2 matches up with the Sony VX2100, not the pd170

Both the GL2 and the 2100 are the consumer models, not pro like the pd170

Even then its still hard to compare a 1/4" 3CCD to a 1/3" 3CCD but I agree with your GL2/VX2100 statement since both lack integrated XLR inputs.

BTW - How many miles do you have on that 91 MR2 Turbo? My 93' VR-4 just hit 200k but can still spank a 350z.

If anything the XL1 would match up with the PD170.

I have 81,000 miles on the MR2, still boosting really good, needs new brakes, but I might sell it very soon.
