cleaning some specs of dirt

Hi guys, I recently bought a second hand vx2k and thankfully, everything is picture perfect in the camera, except ofcourse, the dirt thing i mentioned. Its can be seen through the viewfinder only, and i'm wondering how i would go about cleaning this. I mean, the dirt is not on the viewfinder glass itself, and its certainly not in the front lens. it seems to be in between, somehow. apart from this, the camera is in pristine condition, its still shiny! and no scratches anywhere. any help? thanks

The lens does come off the viewfinder so you can clean it IIRC, I've just never had to clean mine.

Frankly, unless the specks are really large, I'd leave well enough alone.

hi mike thanks for the fast response, is there any instructions to taking off the lens on the viewfinder? is it complicated?

Unfortunately, I think it may be different from my PD150's. Do you have the manual for the camera? I think it is covered in there.

Spike Spiegel March 19th, 2005 10:58 PM

hi, i have the pdf version of the manual, i will check it asap to see if it describes this process. in the meanwh ile if anyone has any experience please post as a secondary measure for me :)

ok i coudl get the viewfinder off, but the dirt is still there, meaning its probably in the next layer of lens...anyway to access this set? Any advice?

Are you sure it's not some little scratch? I've had that happen with me, not with a camera though.

As the other guy said, I reccomend you leave it alone unless it's REALLY bothering you. You might screw something up.
