Always turn image stabilisation *off* when shooting on a tripod.

I have treated my VX-2000 pretty gingerly since I bought it in the Fall of 2000. Recently, (last 6 months) my menu dial has developed a short, which makes it very difficult to navigate throught the menus. It tends to jump around a lot, and since it's also a button as well as a dial, I have to be very careful when I press a selection. It's a pain, but so far not worth sending the camera in for a $400+ service call, as I use it infrequently. Other than that, no major problems at all.
