warranty on PAL camcorders
 

Hello All,

I live in the US. I am planning buy a
PAL model of VX2000(e).

Since it's a PAL model, I cannot get
manufacturer?s standard warranty.
The mail order store is offering me extended warranty from Mack Camera
Service (http://www.mackcam.com/).

How useful/reliable this warranty is if repairs are required while outside US?
Does anyone have experience/advice on this? I had called Mack to get the info.
They didn't sound very customer friendly.

Also, are there any other options
available for international warranty?
I called SONY (US) but they didn't have
any info on this.

Why don't you place a call to Sony in San Jose and have a chat with them? They are located on RiverOaks Parkway and Zanker Road (It's the place you take your consumer products in for repair and where they have an accessory retail store).

The Mack warranty is said to be so-so although I purchased their service for my 150.

If you want a better service agreement and are willing to pay for it, try Armatos in NY.
