shooting for PAL on an NTSC xv2000
 

i have an NTSC - vx2000 and use it to shoot for PAL sometimes.

for some reason 15 progressive fps looks just fine as 25 fps and when you do the math it makes sense. i guess certain shutter speeds would theoretically work better than others. i've used 60 and 350 and they looked fine.

the image gets letter boxed but that's okay. i stretch the image horizontal a little bit, until it reaches the safety lines, so not enough to make people look fat and so you don't really see the empty space on the left and right on a normal t.v.

maybe that qualifies as a hack, i don't know... but it's been a nice companion to the trick that lets you edit-to-tape DV-pal on an ntsc camera.
