reputable sony vx2100 repair specialist in or near san diego ca?

hi everyone. on saturday, one of my vx2100's started failing on me. tapes were not getting loaded and i would get a blinking "eject" symbol with beeping error. it seems as though the mechanism that opens up the dv tape was not functioning. when i checked it again on sunday, it was working properly.

in short, i need to get it checked out.

is there a reputable sony repair center in or near san diego, ca? any advice on the best way to get this sent out and repaired?

thanks so much in advance.

A. J., when I first got my VX2100, I had trouble getting my tape door to close and lock and the cassette would not load. I finally discovered that this was caused by my having put a cassette labeling tape in the wrong place on the front. You wouldn't think that such a thin thing would block it from being accepted by the mechanism, but I removed it and it worked fine. Since then I put labels only on the bottom edge of the cassettes. You might also check your technique in closing the door. You should put pressure only on the marked point, rather than on both sides, as with most other camcorders. I assume you've tried more than one cassette, to see if the problem is with one of them.
