pd 150 help...
 
I am thinking of getting a pd 150 and using it in mini dv mode ..I need the longer rec.time for weddings and such. Another user told me that when in minidv mode the pd150 records an odd noise when the stop/start record button is pushed it can be herd in the editing process..

have you any info about this..this is not the hiss problem

Yes and no about the noise.

If you leave the camera on default settings you can here the beep of the record kicking in, it lasts for about 1/3 second, but of course you can turn the noises off.

Your friend could also be talking about the NR setting on the audio. If left on, when the camera stops, there is a kind of metallic echo that is placed on the sound track. Turning the NR off, stops the problem.

It is designed to work with the on-board microphone and cancel out camera noise. So when the microphone is not on the camera, the noise cancellation adds noise.

I leave mine off permanently.

Other than that or the beep for record on-off, there is no sound that is placed on the sound track. And the beep doesn't record either. At least it does not on mine.

Yes but the "BEEP" dosen't record to tape, or at least I have never heard it in my 'phones or in post. NR should be eliminated from this camera
