LC-PD170TH Thermodyne Shipping Case for Sony DSR-PD170

does anyone have this case?

I have it and it doesnt seem like the top half's foam is cut right to fit the camera...am I putting it wrong somehow? The only way I can get the camera in is to place it top side up into the half of the case that has the holes in it...

but the other half of the foam case doesnt have a cut in it that contours to the camera's handle

I put the camera on its side. You must take off the mic, obviously, but it then fits very well.

I cant get it to fit on its side..if you get a chance, think you could take a digital picture of what your camera looks like resting in the case?

Hi. First, my apologies - when I just went to take the photo you requested, I discovered that I actually place it topside-up in the cutout.

Second, here's the photo. The foam just compresses over the handle to hold it in place. Is this what yours looks like?

Thanks Paul..yeah that is how I put mine in too..it seems wrong to me to compress the foam down on the handle..too much pressure? but I guess not

I worried about that at first, but I tried it with my hand, tested it, etc, and have taken it out on a ton of jobs and am glad it's that way. Keeps it nice and snug and there's much more give in that foam than there is in the handle. No worries.
